*** GALLERY RESTORED ***
#1
Information
As it turns out, we WERE able to upgrade to the new version of the Gallery at no cost. It is now again available for viewing by members who's accounts have been activated.

I would like to thank DAVE for doing the homework that allowed us to restore our Gallery. Nice job, Doctor! Big Grin

There have been some changes to the gallery format, some of which include:
--- Title now listed under each photo's thumbnail
--- Members may give each picture a rating
--- Album photos may be viewed as a slideshow
--- Members may sort the photos in each album by variables of their choosing
--- and more...

A few items of note, based on my brief observation (bugs included):
--- All photos from our old gallery have been loaded into our new gallery. Smile
--- The number of images in each album seem to have been reset to 0, even though each album still contains the same images that it did before the upgrade. There is one exception to this - the Boys album still shows 45 as the number of images within. Dodgy

Anyway, I suppose those of us who visit the gallery will adjust to it's new features and particular quirks. I know we were considering alternative options, which included setting up a new section within the board itself, whereby photos could be posted in actual threads. This doesn't seem to be necessary, but yet I'm still willing to consider doing just that if our members would prefer that format over the updated gallery that we have at top.

Feedback on the new gallery is welcome below. Thanks to everyone for your lighthearted comments in the "Gallery Problem" thread as well as for your patience and understanding.

I added a pic I saw on a homeschoolblogger.com site. On the door behind them it says Boys Spanking Room. Could that be for real??????? BTW, how do you post a pic in the forum?

Wow when I saw ur pic in the gallery I just assumed that someone just used their computer to put text on the picture of the door. But a lot of homeschoolers believe in spanking I think. That would be really interesting (and kinda embarrassing) if it was real lol Blush

to post a pic on the forum - when u open a box to make a post there is a little square icon right above the box u type in that looks like a little picture of a couple mountains with the sun over them. Click on that and then paste the url of the picture u wanna post in the little box that pops up. If u dont know the url just right click on the pic and click copy image location. Then paste it here and it should show up in your post. I usually click preview post before I actually post it to make sure it is showing up right. Hope I explained that ok. Blush

Indeed, thanks Dakoda. But I was pretty sure that I had the settings right. I just went and checked again - the setting for "Auto Approve Pictures" is un-checked for registered members. Color me confused. Undecided Perhaps a glitch in the upgrade? If so, it's beyond anything I can control.

The good news is that unactivated members and unregistered guests still do not have access to the gallery at all. I checked on that.

Good question and answer, boys. I think Brandon got it right. Let me know if you have any problems.
