I wouldn't be surprised if some of JonesAlex1981's children become vegetarians.

I grew up with a vegetarian mother, who later turned vegan. My father was a carnivore who never met a veggie he particularly enjoyed. It was an interesting marriage to say the least. As for my family, no road kill, trust me on that one. EWWWWWW :p I do enjoy trying foods I never ate as a kid. We do eat some vegan and vegetarian dies, and some dishes with meat. Tonight in fact we are having some baked chicken, rice with onions and mushrooms, flavored with chicken broth, and some steamed veggies.
We have a trader joes about 30 miles from us, and I know what it is

The nearest Trader Joe's or Whole Foods is probably in Nashville. But we do have Walmart and Kroger.

Alligator is a lean meat, it doesn't taste like chicken, but you can treat it like chicken. Anything that can be paired with chicken, can be paired with alligator. The first time I had it, was from a street vendor, outside of Jackson Square in N'awlins (new orleans). I got some grilled gator on a stick.

Grilled gator on a stick? I might be curious enough to try that if I were ever in New Orleans. But I absolutely would never try snake meat.
