Also look at the kid themselves, Working at a grocery store for a while and now working as a lifeguard, I heard/hear threats all the time. some kids stop dead in their tracks, some half listen, some in their head go "Yeah right"

That's a good point, John Boy. We're in a town, you might call a village. It's very small. Most kids here stop in their tracks. The warnings are subtle, and not really to be understood by the public. They're family passwords. The kids reaction is easier to read.
