I can't be prouder
#1
Since today's afternoon, huge hapinness and pride has been flowing through my body. Today, me and my wife had the 20th anniversary. But it is not the main subject of this post.

After lunch, my youngest son Ethan approached me and told me that he would like me and his mom to take him out, because he wanted to spend some time with us, just him, me and my wife. We agreed and asked him if his brothers were going too, but he said no, he wanted to have us both just for himself and his brothers had different plans anyway. So we left the house. We went to the center of our town, visited some shops, got Ethan an ice cream...just hanging out. After about an hour or so, he wanted to go back home, so we got back to the car and headed to our house. After I had parked the car, Ethan told us that he would like to play hide and seek with us, so we were supposed to wait in the car, while he would be looking for a place to hide, and then go to the house. Since we know hide and seek is his favourite game, we couldn't say no, we agreed and waited in the car for a few minutes. Afterwards, we made our way to our house. We weren't prepared on what was coming.

When we got inside the house to the living room, besides our sons, there were also our neighbours, our family friends and our kids' friends. They all said "Happy Anniversary!" together and then, David, Daniel and Ethan started singing a song they had composed together. Me and my wife were just standing like frozen for a minute, because we wasn't expecting anything like this. After the song, David brought a cake with our names written on top of it. Our anniversary party was going on until about 7PM. We had good conversations with our friends and got some presents from them, and boys were playing with their friends. After our friends had left and it was just us and our sons, we got little presents from them too.

During the talk we had with them after the end of the party, we found out that boys had been planning this party for us for almost a month. When Ethan asked us today to take him out, it was just part of their plan to get us out of the house, so David and Daniel could prepare everything - decorate the house, prepare the presents, let our friends know that they could come...

We also got big hugs and kisses from each of them and then we spent time watching a hockey match together (we won by the way Smile ).

This was one of the biggest surprises I have ever experienced in my life. I was surprised that kids knew the date of our anniversary. They do know the dates of our birthdays, because it is more common reason for celebration, but we don't talk much about the date of our anniversary, so I wasn't expecting that they would remember it. And I definitely wasn't expecting that they would organize such a big party for us. They had been saving money to get the decorations, the cake and other stuff.

After Ethan and Daniel had gone to sleep, I was sitting with David in the living room. Since he was the one who had spent most of the money to get the decorations and cake, I wanted to give him (and also his brothers) some money, because the expenses weren't low, but he said that he didn't want any money and his brothers didn't want either, it was their present for us to our 20th anniversary.

Even though boys can give us pretty hard times sometimes with their behaviours, they can also give us really big surprises. I am so proud of them and happy that I have them. Smile

You are welcome dad, we are glad that we managed to surprise you and mom! Big Grin Maybe, as a little present for me and my brothers, you can give us some "saving passes" which we can use when we are in trouble, so we won't be punished? Angel :p

Thank you everybody for your comments, we are happy that we could do it for our parents Smile
