Big Hiking Trip

Mostly really good. None of us are big on camping (still), but all enjoying the hiking (as anticipated). Two discipline moments, one just for my niece (Amanda, 16), and one for her along with Amaia. But over almost 3 weeks of 24/7 around each other, and being tired, etc, I guess that isn't shocking. Overall we are having a good time and enjoying it! we extended by a few days so that we can finish a particularly pretty stretch, but still less than a week left!

Thank you Sarah! I was born here too, but moved to Louisiana and Texas and have spent my entire adult life in those two states. It's nice to be back in NC!

Sounds like it was a great trip! I miss my days camping with the kids. It was a great way to bond with them and we always had lots to do and lots of fun. Rarely did I have any discipline problems. Thanks for sharing with us!

I got a BIG one near the end for climbing out on a rock to take a selfie when mom had told me to wait at the top of the climb and not go near the edge till she got there Sad

I realize it was probably earned in some fashion, but I got REALLY lit up, and it felt unfair it was so harsh. But maybe that's just cause it was unpleasant Sad

I had to pick my own switch and got it right off the trail. Mom lit me up. Sad

Otherwise a super fun trip

Olivia, I'm sure you understand that every parent wants their kids to be healthy, happy and fulfilled. Taking a death defying selfie would earn "the big one" from me too.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the trip.

Olivia,

Seems you not only put yourself in a dangerous situation, you also clearly dissobeyed your moms orders.

If one of my girls had done that I surely would lit up their bottoms also.

Olivia sorry you got the switch on the trail. I have never used the switch on my son bare bottom yet. But I am sure that isn't a pleasant experience either. Good Luck in the future.

It was a fun trip. But I'm also European so I 1) don't hate camping like the rest and 2) like hiking even more than the rest. Really a fun time, other than the one incident when I got in trouble lol

im so glad that it was a fun trip! ive never been one for like camping camping... going to summer camp would be more likely if we can't stay in a hotel or lodge or something. but like hiking into the woods with nothing but a backpack -- no thank you!

Amaia, i never realized it was a cultural thing. do europeans go camping much more than americans?
