Why do people register and not post?

I don't get it. People who aren't registered can read some parts of the forum. Then when they register, they just can see the same parts until they post their introduction and get activated, right? So why do they register and never post anything?
In December, 20 people registered. But only 6 of them ever posted anything.
Why?

Honestly, the first time we registered it took us a while to realize we were supposed to post in the introduction forum BEFORE we were activated. We thought we were supposed to await an activation email and THEN our first post was supposed to be an introduction.

I don't think this answers everyone in this category (and hence doesnt answer your question), but I wouldnt be shocked if it explains some of them.

Oh ok, Ms Kaitie. That makes sense if people don't know that. I knew because my mom told me, so I did my introduction just as soon as she let me register.
Thank you.

I don't think it took long to activate your account so you may not of noticed that awaiting activation accounts have a bit more access than guest. Some people create a profile and then look around to see if it is the right feel, if they decided it isn't for them whatever the reason may be they just sort of disappear after that. Think of it like going into a store and looking around but not finding what you wanted or were looking for and just leave.

Oh you are right, Mr Sam, I did not know that. I thought there were just 2 levels. 1 for guests and new members, and 1 for activated members.
I did not know that there were 3 levels.
Thank you.
