Yes, I remember this one. An interesting little event on the campaign trail...

That kid needs a spanking. It's obvious that his parents don't spank him.

Yes, the boy needs a spanking. From his parents. Who should teach him to respect both his elders and the office for which Mr. Cruz was running. But he didn't deserve to be told he needed one from Mr. Cruz. Mr. Cruz should be able to treat all of his consitituents equally and with respect, both those who support him and those who don't. He shouldn't brush the kid aside to make him a talking point about discipline.

I agree. I don’t think any person whether a parent or not, should comment on another persons parenting unless they are asked to do so.

It would not hurt to be more open about discussing discipline and spanking, though. And I think that could extend to providing advice.

I have chatted with many people who like to discuss child rearing. This of course includes discipline. I never criticize them but I do feel there are always alternative ways of doing things. It always comes down to making choices. Some will be good and some not so good. What matters is being open minded and not becoming overly attached to just one way of doing things. Many parents tell me they are raising their kids just like they were raised but upon further investigation, they tell me they are less strict and more aware and conscious of how they are parenting. This of course is a good thing.
