RE: Dear Abby
There are few people in the UK at least who openly advocate spanking their children out with trusted and like minded family and close friends. I do believe that spanking amongst under 12s has probably increased in recent years. I did witness an incident in Gatwick airport where a harassed mum swatted her son of about eight twice on the seat of his trousers in full view of other travellers and indeed two patroling, policemen no one batted an eyebrow. I think the general consensus was probably one of approval. I’m certain consensual domestic disciple does take place place between many couples the operative word is consensual be it for discipline or play

Speaking of advice, one area that I think could really be good would be the possibility of a low cost ebook on spanking (print could also be good), which I have discussed in the past; something well written and accessible to parents. Particularly, discussion of the discipline of teenagers is weaker in most books on this subject available today from what I have seen, and this should probably be addressed to fill that gap.

I think disciplining teenagers is something of a grey area with a great many parents unsure how to deal with an older girl or boy. I feel that if a child has been spanked throughout his or her early years they are more likely to be accepting of spankings in teenage years. I think it would be pretty much impossible to introduce spankings to teenage children previously unspanked that said I’m sure it’s been done successfully when a new step parent has joined the family,

Yes, I have read a few articles going into those situations.
