I saw that once on Hannah Montana. Hannah's father (played by Billy Ray Cyrus) poured a bucket of water on Hannah's older brother when he wouldn't get up out of bed on a school day.

In both cases the family and child may need counselling. There is also the possibility the child is being bullied at school and are fearful of being hurt or picked on by someone. As a parent I would check this out first and speak to their teacher or the principal to make sure this is not occurring.

Bullying is a big problem in schools and lots of kids are afraid to approach the authorities in case they won’t be believed while some schools just don’t admit they have a problem.

At one point I was the victim of bullying and my parents did get it sorted out. Don’t think the bullying stops at school it happens in university and college and even the workplace.

It becomes more subtle.

My parents have taught me and explained that the bullies are insecure individuals and really if you stand up to them they back down. Best thing for any bullied kid is to raise self confidence my parents introduced me to simple martial arts which gave me the confidence to stand up for my self
