I actually read somewhere that spanking stimulates the brain and makes you smarter! Being scientifically oriented myself I learned it is wise to be prudent when discerning scientific studies. In other words sometimes common sense and your gut is your best indicator of what is or is not the truth. “Be attached to nothing and open to everything” as one wise scientist put it!

Very refreshing to read. She also delves on Benjamin Spock a bit in another article. Spock based his own observations a lot on Donald Winnicott's, who worked with children with PTSD after bombs had been dropped on their heads during WWII. The idea of the 'Safe Space' comes from Winnicott, by the way.

Nowadays, most children are being raised as if they were suffering from PTSD... from birth.

This is another univseristy study that questions the motives behind anti-spanking studies, from the Acron Law Review:

And this is another one fom the American Psychological Association which flat-out suggests to refer to spanking by another word because the word "spanking" is viewed in a more acceptable or normal way than "corporal punishment", for instance:

The social science, on the anthropology side, is almost more significant. I would still be careful about tossing these studies aside though, although I can see some legitimate criticism of this research it is also obvious that there is some meaningful information being collected. But I do agree that there are many more dimensions to look at here.
