I would actually prefer it if the gallery stayed down. I never understood the reason for it.

I could care less one way or the other about the gallery. It is cute and I think a couple of people have put pictures of the children they are talking about, so it is kind of nice to put a face to the names, but we could certainly live without it and it would not effect the appeal of the board.

If I may make a suggestion, why not have a forum thread for pictures? That way people can use that to look if they choose.

OK, I'm pretty sure what Howie meant is that he didn't see the reason for having a gallery at all, but the replies went into a different direction. I have considered setting up a gallery room or section where pictures may be inserted into posts. One advantage here is that if a series of 2 or more pictures is being displayed, they can be posted into a single thread. I have also looked into other options that would be a comparable replacement to the one we used to have, but didn't really find anything similar that would also be user-friendly enough for a "learn-as-I-go-along" administrator like myself to master. I'll set to work on it before too long. I do respect the opinions of members who question the presence of a photo gallery on our board at all, and I have heard some compelling reasons as to why they feel that way. But I also believe that it offers some benefit as well, as long as the galleries are strictly monitored to ensure that nothing posted violates not only our own Rules of the House, but also the guidelines set forth by our host server.
