Canada Thanksgiving - Rosie - 10-12-2020 Happy Canada Thanksgiving to those living in Canada. RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Nancy - 10-12-2020 Thank you, Rosie! RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Karo15 - 10-12-2020 Happy Canada Thanksgiving What do you celebrate at Thanksgiving? RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Mr_Simons - 10-12-2020 Yes, happy Thanksgiving to you good folks. I wish we had Thanksgiving in the UK as it sounds like a lovely holiday. RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Maddie - 10-12-2020 If I could manage to live in the US in October and Canada in November then I'd never have to celebrate thanksgiving day RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Maddie - 10-12-2020 (10-12-2020, 04:38 PM)Mr_Simons Wrote: Yes, happy Thanksgiving to you good folks. Not to mention, it's maybe the most American thing ever to think you can edit the need to "give thanks" down to a single day and then make it all about personal gluttony and pleasure . It's actually about gratitude and giving. RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Maddie - 10-12-2020 (10-12-2020, 05:33 PM)Scarlette Wrote: It's actually about gratitude and giving. Then why limit it to one day? Why celebrate it with a feast? Why time it with a false narritve of comradship with the native americans we eradicated? I see a lot more buying (black friday), eating, gorging, and watching football than I do meaningful ways of giving thanks and gratitutde. People that spend the day volunteering to feed the homeless? Now those people I dig, but I'd still rather see it spread out around the year. RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Scarlette - 10-12-2020 Why have one day for Christmas or any other holiday? Simply because there are those who limit something to one day only doesn't mean everyone does. I love that my school puts on a Thanksgiving dinner for the community...not just the homeless but the lonely or whoever just wants to be with others. Does that mean it's the only day I or my family does that? If you do then you really need to meet my stepdad. RE: Canada Thanksgiving - Scarlette - 10-12-2020 But Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Canada. |
