My aunt works for CPS and she says one of the very worst things you can do to a kid is take them from there house to a new family.
It don't make sense to me and mostly it seems like there just taking something and making it something worst.

We are against Parenting Laws in general because they are a prime example of government overreach. With that being said the gentleman in the video really does a terrible job defending his point.
We also believe that this law isn’t going to stop spanking. It’s just going to drive it underground. Just like it has done in anti spanking areas of America.

It's going to work just as well as anti abuse laws work. People who are going to abuse will abuse. Parents who are going to spank will spank. Clumping it all together may do nothing more than desensitize society to child abuse.

That has been the effect in Canada. I don't think parents are spanking any less because of the law. All it's done is, as you said, drive it underground. Now you dare not even ask another parent for advice.
I believe the only reason for CPS to ever remove a child from their home is if the child is in danger by staying there. And by danger, I mean more than a sore bottom. I mean real life and death danger.

Its like some people forget to see the whole entire picture because in a normal regular family spanking is just a tiny little part of it.

It has always seemed crazy to me to take a child away from his/her parents due to spanking. Being taken into care is surely going to be a thousand times more traumatic.

I think these anti-spanking laws exist because too many parents simply don't respect the line between spanking and other forms of corporal punishment. I knew this one man who said he punished his daughter by hitting her on the "back" with a belt, and he referred to that as "spanking". I had initially assumed that maybe this was a euphemism like "backside" and that he was actually referring to the buttocks. But no, he was literally talking about her back. I could be mistaken, but that doesn't sound safe.
I've also heard hitting a child in the face referred to as "spanking", but perhaps the scariest thing is how it's so common for parents to talk about hitting their kids in the mouth as punishment for speaking disrespectfully.
The MOUTH!?!?!? That's probably one of the worst places on the body to hit.
Rather than ban spanking, I think there should be laws regulating the practice for safety, so that the idiots out there don't get the idea that literally punching your kid in the mouth is in any way an acceptable method of discipline.

Yeah, we can't have a kid being reasonably spanked by their parents, so instead we'll place them in a foster home where they are likely to be raped. Because that's SO much better. (sarcasm)

Even there the issue is that many parents find slapping acceptable, even non abusive parents and parents who never spank. My mother occasionally slapped, but never spanked.
