Spanking to be Illegal in Scotland

I've never felt abused when my mother has slapped me in the face either.

I have been slapped in the face by my biofather and although it wasn't as bad as getting my butt busted if felt emotionally abusive if that makes any sense.

My mother does it to put an abrupt stop to something I'm saying....not that anyone could possibly understand why that would ever be necessary with me since I'm such a polite and charming individual.

My stepfather has never slapped me in the face.

At the end of the day I think people need to take care with what is deemed abuse...my biofather accused my stepdad of sexual abuse because he spanked me. There is an entire population of people who have deemed the spanking of children to be sexual abuse and the first step on the road to developing a fetish.
There is also the population that deems any physical punishment to be physical abuse...you know the group that will be quick to point out that the only people you can legally strike are children....guess on the totem pole of life that puts us below dogs.
Then there is the camp that has labeled spanking as emotional or even intellectual abuse....

Here's what I know.....

When an adult yells at me I feel far more abused than I have ever felt after having my mouth slapped or my butt whacked.
.......my mother and stepdad do not yell at me.

Being made to feel like I am less important or my thoughts, feelings opinions are less valid because of my age makes me feel more abused than having my mouth slapped or butt whacked.
.......my mother and stepfather have never made me feel like my age has made me less than in any area of life.

Being ignored because I have failed to live up to someone's expectations has made me feel far more abused than having my mouth slapped or my butt whacked.
......my mother and stepfather have never ignored me or made me feel unwanted.

Just the facts from someone who has been on the receiving end of all the above but not by my mother or my stepfather....abuse is a powerful word and should never be used lightly.
