Praying Before A Spanking

Absolutely! As parents we need to pray to God for the strength to do what is right for our children because on our own we will fall flat on our faces.

You know my dad is agnostic ok? I think he doesn't fall flat on his face. I think he is a very good dad and mostly I don't think me and my sisters are bad kids so I don't think I agree with that part about falling flat on your face.

These kind of debates get complicated.

Of course there is the alternative argument, he is helped even if he doesn't know it, the mere capacity to breathe or have sunlight is evidence that we have the Grace of God.

And also, of course, atheists and agnostics can be nice people. Does the mere capacity to be good indicate a blessing? Kind of.

I don't know but if we are going to give God credit for everything somebody does that is right then don't he also get the blame when something is done wrong?

Yes, that is a good question. I don't think God can be blamed for bad things but it is probably good to have some questions about whether everything good could be considered God's responsibility.

We can't take free will out of the equation. God gives us free will. We pray to him for guidance and strength to do what is right but the ultimate choice and responsibility for that choice lies on our shoulders.

Why? I don't understand that.

I sort of agree with this but its true for people who don't really believe in God to.
