Our Success
#1
As the last Forum (Parents Who Spank, then changed to Spanking At Home) this Forum seems to be in my opinion just as successful. I think Michael has done a great job to ensure a nonjudgmental atmosphere and at the same time promoting non abusive corporal punishment. As a Moderator I have not had to edit or delete a single post which tells me those joining the group are here for the right reasons. As a non parent but someone with a lot of child rearing experience I think being open minded and willing not to get too attached to any one child rearing philosophy is important. The ability to change as your child grows and matures is in my opinion essential and will be well worth the effort in the long run when your child becomes your best adult friend. Thanks Michael for all your efforts!

I'll second Garth's thanks and congratulations. This forum is going well and I appreciate everyone's supportive, insightful, and thought-provoking comments. Little doses of humor and humility are also great to see. Thanks to all and to Michael for making this forum a success so far.

Thank you so much my friends for your kind words. Blush

I really regretted having to close our old home last fall due to family issues. Spanking At Home was helping me in so many ways - find friendship and fellowship among other parents and caregivers that helped me implement a type of discipline that had been lacking in my home through most of my kids' lives.

I agree that Parenting and Spanking may be even better. In fact I really think it is. We are growing a bit more slowly than the board did last year, but I think the level of activity is almost equal. Plus, as Garth said, we have had very little to deal with in the way of content concerns and for that I am very grateful. I'll trade that for some of the growing pains we experienced last time. Undecided

There has been very little disagreement within threads - just an honest exchange of ideas. When there have been differences of opinion, I believe that they were done respectfully - at least I hope so. Dave is right as well - I love to come across the humorous touches that pop up all over the board from our creative members.

I want to especially thank some of my true friends on the board - some that I knew from last year, some that I have met recently - for your support and understanding. Finally, to Garth and Dave, thank you for your willingness to help me keep Parenting and Spanking a safe and honorable place for caregivers to gather. Big Grin

I agree with Garth's sentiments. I am very appreciative of the fact that Michael chose to start up a new group, as I think it is both informative and beneficial to Parents such as myself.

Personally, I think this group is running much better than the first and that is largely due to member participation. So thank you to everyone involved. Let's keep it a safe, educational, and member-friendly board.

I have to agree with Nick here. We may have a lower number of members, but they seem to be a more active bunch than in our last board. I also think it is great to see some of the respectful debate that occurs on this board. Thank you Michael for starting it and Dave and Garth for moderating. Smile
