Setting Your Avatar - a "How To" Guide
#1
Information
Members are allowed to, and encouraged to, create an avatar (a representative picture next to your name on posts) for themselves in order to make our forum more interesting from a visual standpoint. Not sure how? Here is an easy step-by-step guide to establishing an avatar:

1. Go to your User Control Panel. Find "User CP" near the top of the page next to the time you last visited. Click on "User CP."

2. Look for the Menu bar on the left side of the page. The top section relates to use of our Private Messaging system. The next section is entitled "Your Profile." Under the heading "Edit Profile," click on the link labeled "Change Avatar."

3. Under the banner labeled "Custom Avatar," you will find 2 options -

a. Upload Avatar: This allows you to use a picture that is stored on your computer. Click the "Browse..." button - this will bring up a box from which you can find an image on your computer to select. Choose your desired image, click "Open," and then click the button at the bottom of the page labeled "Change Avatar." Your avatar should now be set. (note - The maximum size for an avatar is 125x125 pixels - your picture will automatically be resized to fit those dimensions.)

b. Avatar URL: This allows you to use a picture that is hosted on the internet. Find your desired picture on a web page. Right-click on the picture, then select "Copy Image Location" in the box that pops up. Right-click on the white box next to the "Avatar URL," then select "Paste" from the pop up box. The URL of the image you selected should now appear in the box. Click the button at the bottom of the page labeled "Change Avatar." Your avatar should now be set.

If you have any trouble being able to set your avatar, PLEASE let me know. I may be able to help you, or even do it for you if possible. Big Grin

Thank you!
