Times Are A Changin
#1
Today's sermon had a theme Bob Dylan fans would be familiar with. Like most Churches we seem to have quite a few dinosaurs around. Don't get me wrong. I love old people. In fact I am on the young side of old myself. Also like most Churches we have our share of politics and like all democracies there is conflict and divisiveness. Now this could lead to a lack of faith and an "us versus them" mentality. Of course what brings us together is the oneness of God and the grace of Jesus. What surprises me however is some people really think this all matters. Can you imagine an eighty year old getting upset because he doesn't agree with the color of the carpet that the majority of paritioners have decided on? Where is the spirituality there? Life is constantly changing. Get use to it if you want to find the Kingdom of Heaven. Or be miserable. After all as Saint Teresa said "suffering is also a gift from God"!
