For some reason, I am unable to join any Yahoo group even though I have a Yahoo account.

I have heard they might be folding as well, not sure if that's the case.

As I understand it to join a Yahoo group now you have to be invited. They have also eliminated 90% of what used to be there: pictures, polls, links, databases, and even conversations. I don't know what's left.

I have also heard that Yahoo is doing away with all of its groups.

At this point, it's amazing that Yahoo is still in existence as a functional company.

BadMom78, completely agree lol. I also think it's amazing that Yahoo is still in business as a functional company. I've never been a fan of them, years ago I used to get a lot more spam in my Yahoo email than my Gmail. That hasn't been the case lately, although I don't really use my Yahoo. Definitely a Google fan here lol. And now they've closed Messenger a year or two ago and now Groups, seems like they are slowly shutting down over time.
Garth, since 2017 Yahoo has been owned by Verizon Media, a division of Verizon Communications the cell phone company/service provider. Had to quickly look it up myself lol since I was curious.

I saw an article saying that Yahoo Groups are being reduced to some sort of message only service. I havent used it for years as it seemed to die off with no one using it.

It certainly sounds like Yahoo is on its death bed. |
