Dog House Removed?

I don't think that's the discussion? I think this is about the Dog House, which is currently only or to parents, junior members, and moderators/administrators. Unless I missed something, which is certainly possible.

I guess there's a question also of whether it should be all parents or just parents with kids still at home. For instance, I used to be able to see the dog house but not anymore (but I was also absent for quite a while for medical reasons). My kids are grown and graduated college now so perhaps there's no need for me to be there.

It's certainly not the original discussion topic, but that discussion faded out a long time ago. As this thread was reactivated the question was raised about giving access to the parents' area to adults that are not parents and that seems to be where we are.

I think that granting exceptions to some parents and not others is really weird and dangerous territory and defeats the entire purpose of the restriction. If we want to go back to opening the doghouse to non parents, fine. If we want to keep it parents and kids, fine. But letting "some" non parents in seems to defeat the entire point. Meanwhile, I think the "parents talk" board should def stay parents only.

I like that the doghouse is now invisible to non-parents. If anyone wants to post totally publically there is the kitchen table thing. Lots of kids don't want to post in front of the whole board when there are people that we don't totally trust. For a while, girls were only posting about trouble in the girls teen board for this reason. I'm not sure restricting the doghouse to parents and kids 100% makes me comfortable, but it goes a long way past wide open to the world.

I'm very happy for the dog house to be parents and teens and for the parents page to be parents only.
No disrespect to the adult non-parents here but they don't need access. Note the title of the forum.....

I was replying to someone who said the parents only section should also be available to non parents.
