Christian Trolling

It is my own fault since I was the stupid one who believed everything she said so much that I sometimes still have the thought pop in my mind about something she would say about one of her kids but since she's not real there not real. I don't know. Its stupid so moving right along now. Blush

I like the question about how a Christian is supposed to treat a troll but nobody is answering it yet.
Are we supposed to be kind to the troll or since it isn't real do we just ignore it but there is a real person being a troll.
WHY do you think people troll? Why do people role play? None of it makes any good sense to me.

The answers to the trolling question had two sides to them. We're supposed to turn the other cheek, we're supposed to be a witness to others but we also are supposed to correct in love. It's probably more a personal decision? I choose to not communicate with that woman but I don't call her out either. I figure a troll does the trolling because they are very unhappy with their life and are probably very lonely and so insecure they think no-one will like them if they just be themselves. I feel sorry for trolls. I feel sorry for what happened to you Rosie but I also feel sorry for this Alex persona. He spends a lot of time perfecting it so how sad must his life be?

But how are Christians supposed to treat trolls?

Garth gives you excellent advise about who to trust and who not to trust on the Internet. Your experience with the person on the RG forum is a difficult one. She seems very legitimate and has the support of other members on that forum. I wouldn't call her a troll, I think Garth called it right with role player. It is unfortunate that any adult would do this with a child. I don't know if this will comfort you at all but I have lodged a written complaint regarding that forum and I was given the name of two US senators to write to and I have done that as well. It is one thing to have a forum that entertains role players but you do not involve children and you are a child. The adults on that forum have failed to protect you and I have no doubt others as well and that is not okay.

I'm glad someone did something. My mom wrote to the owner of that forum but he's a big part of the problem. He doesn't care. I suppose there will always be sites like that one but hopefully the non-role players will find their way to forums such as this one.

So I have decided what I will do and it is for me as much as the troll and that is I will just be kind and in private pray for the troll. If somebody is hurting then I don't want to add to the hurt. You know we never know when somebody might be just hanging on and so one mean thing could be tragic.

To be sure you are talking to someone you can trust, trust your instincts and join sites you know are legitimate. Befriend only people you know on Facebook and if you have any suspicions about someone talk to your parents and see what they think. And of course never give out any personal information on the internet.

Ya Nancy says it best she says U don’t really know so pay attention to how the person makes u feel and if u feel safe with them. I’m not allowed to add anyone from any forum on fb...I had a pic of our house on fb even and Caleb had a heart attack and almost died

I don’t understand why do adults decide to be someone they’re not? It makes no sense to me as adults u can do whatever you want in your life why lie? Unless u hate your life but that’s sorta weird and how does going on the internet solve anything??? I guess as I’m growing up I’m seeing lots of adults can’t be trusted.

Maybe what you're seeing is adults are human just like you are? Why do people role play? I suspect it's from loneliness but I also assume the reasons are many. I am sure you've heard the snowflake comparisons, each one is different just as each person is different so the reasons Megan, will also be different. You are going to be surprised when you are grown up to discover that adults can't do whatever they want and life is not fair. There are women who are trying to conceive and how is that fair when there are those who get pregnant easily and abort the baby? Adults have hurts just like children and teens do, our journeys come with bumps too. I hope what you are going to learn is that while you can trust most adults, you have to remain aware that everyone is broken to some degree.

There is trolling and then there is that.

I know it sounds gross but I think a lot of the fake personas in regards to this is entirely fetish. He might have a sad life, but the fantasy of being a "Christian Woman who spanks" etc. is a big turn on for him, I am going to guess.

There are a lot of possibilities there, but I am almost sure he is not merely platonic or wasting his time. There is a lot of fantasy going into that. And sadly many people assume that all internet forums where parents discuss spanking are actually roleplay/fantasy chat forums.

If it was just trolling they would go into outrageous detail and then post the responses in a Youtube video or blog making fun of parents or teachers who are pro-spanking.
